Qatar into world quarter-finals, but the Brazilian team was knocked out

Hosts Qatar delivered a fantastic performance to defeat Austria 29-27 and enter quarter-finals of the 24th Men’s Handball World Championship. They are the first Asian team since 1997 to reach the quarter-finals. Qatar take on the winner of the January 28 pre-quarter-final match between Germany and Egypt. Croatia has advanced to the quarter-final stages after beating Brazi by 23-22. Croatia will face the winner of the Sweden v Poland match in the quarter-final.
